The BVPAGE Summer Opportunities Fair is an annual fundraising event that connects families with a wide variety of summer camps and programs through the region. Money raised from this event supports programming for families in the Blue Valley School District who have children identified as gifted and provides grants for Blue Valley gifted teachers. For a $50 donation, you will secure one table at an open house event on March 3, 2022 from 7pm to 8:30pm that will be open to the general public to attend. You may purchase more than one table if you need more space. As part of your donation, we will also share your program information via an individual social media post on our Facebook forum for those families who are unable to attend. A list of vendor information will be sent out to our email list of more than 800 contacts.

Please follow these steps to register for the Summer Opportunities Fair:

1. Complete this form.

2. When prompted within the form, make your donation by sending a check to the BVPAGE Treasurer (information is in form) or via PayPal by using the Donate button on the BVPAGE website. (For your convenience, we accept PayPal or checks. PayPal takes 2.9% plus 30 cents, so if you prefer to provide BVPAGE with all of the funds, you may send a check. BVPAGE is not a 501c3, so your donation is not tax deductible.)

3. Look for payment confirmation email from BVPAGE.

Thank you for participating in the 2022 Summer Opportunities Fair!

We hope this message finds you well - or at least hanging in there!

Administration at Blue Valley has reached out to us and asked for our help.  They understand that experiences have varied and there are a lot of questions and concerns out there.  We have agreed to survey Gifted Education families to get your feedback on what is and isn't working as we go back to school.  If you have thoughts you want to share, please fill out the attached Google form and submit your responses by end of day Sunday, September 13th.  Your feedback will remain anonymous.  We will provide this information to the district on Monday and keep you informed of any response we receive.    Thank you for your help! Dear families,

Our mission at BVPAGE is to advocate for an enhanced educational experience for gifted students and provide resources and support for their families and educators. This week, our board voted to activate the advocacy arm of our organization in response to the very challenging decisions we now face in terms of choosing which educational plan best suits our children’s needs this fall. On Monday, we plan to reach out to district special education and gifted administrators to present our questions and concerns over the options being offered both in person and virtually. It is our hope to get answers to as many of them as possible and offer BVPAGE as a resource for district officials to consult as they continue to refine their plans.

We wish we could give you more time take your questions but, as we all know, the August 3rd decision deadline is approaching quickly, and we would like to get answers to help you be as informed as possible. We have already compiled a list from the hundreds of comments we’ve received on our Facebook group and via email and phone calls. If you have not yet shared your concerns with BVPAGE, we ask that you please either email us or post on the BVPAGE Facebook page/group with any additional questions by NOON ON SUNDAY (7/26), so we can add them to our list for Monday.

Please note: we are focusing only on questions and concerns that are gifted specific. We strongly encourage you to reach out personally to the Blue Valley hotline with general and health specific questions. That number is: 913-239-4045 and is open from 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday. Please also consider contacting board of education members or the county health department.

It is times like this when we are grateful that we can band together as one voice and be heard. Let’s all continue to support each other, no matter which path we choose, and do our best to help our kids be successful.
