May Newsletter - Last Meeting, a Quick Survey, Robotics Camps, Volunteering, and Thanks!

President's Message Another school year is wrapping up and it seems like they go faster every year! Our last meeting is this Friday, May 3rd at 11:30a.m. at the District Administration Office on Metcalf. Please note it is a different location from Hilltop. We will be doing a year-end review and resource swap and would love to hear from you about topics you'd like to see addressed next year. Speaking of hearing from you, please click here to take a quick, 10-question parent survey to help us make sure we are meeting the needs of our families in the best way possible. We will be closing it soon so please don't delay! If you haven't signed your child up for our Summer Robotics Camp yet, there are still some spaces available. Please remember that proceeds go toward the gifted teacher classroom grants that we hand out every August. Details are below as well as a link to sign up. Please feel free to share this with friends! I want to take a moment to thank you all for attending our meetings and events in the past year. Most recently, we had a great night of advice and laughter with our parent panel on raising gifted children that was a much needed confidence boost for a lot of us. We also had eight elementary schools participate in our Robotics Share Fair this past month and the kids loved the demonstrations by the Overland Park Bomb Squad and CAPS. None of our meetings or events could happen without people willing to donate their time to organize and run them, which means we need new parents every year to help at a variety of levels of commitment. If you can't donate your time, please consider a monetary donation to BVPAGE so that we can continue to offer and expand our cost-free experiences that support gifted families AND teachers. Please go to for more information on donations or volunteering. We can't do it without you! Have an amazing summer! Amy Gallentine, 2018-2019 BVPAGE President Upcoming Meetings and Events
