September News & Friends of BVPAGE

As I mentioned in the August newsletter, we are so grateful for your feedback on the future of BVPAGE. We were thrilled to see so many of you respond that you’d like to help support our organization as it continues to grow and serve Blue Valley gifted families. As a result, we are instituting some new, exciting changes that we think will create a solid framework for our future. One of those includes the opportunity to join Friends of BVPAGE. Before I get into the details, I want to be clear about what is NOT changing. You are NOTrequired to take any extra steps to be part of BVPAGE. You are automatically a member of the organization if your child is identified as gifted. You can still attend all our daytime meetings and coffees FREE OF CHARGE just like always. So, what IS changing? Starting this year, our three evening speaker meetings will now have a $5 fee per person to attend. Additionally, we are instituting a $5 per child/$20 per team fee for Brain Blizzard. These small contributions will go a long way toward covering the costs associated with these and other events. They also help ensure our continued support of Blue Valley gifted teachers and students in the form of yearly grants for classroom needs. Since so many of you responded that you are willing to help support our organization monetarily, we wanted to create an easy way to give back to BVPAGE that also includes some added perks as a thank you. Therefore, starting this year, we are offering families the opportunity to join Friends of BVPAGE. For an annual $25 voluntary donation per family, you will automatically receive free admission to our evening meetings, free entry for up to 2 kids to Brain Blizzard, and early enrollment opportunities for our summer robotics camp. We have created a link HERE for you to easily and securely sign up and pay via PayPal or to pay by check if that is more comfortable for you. There is also a link to the form on our website, Once your donation has processed, you will receive a confirmation email. If you feel inspired to do so, you are more than welcome to make an additional donation through PayPal or by check as well! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us or you are welcome to ask questions at our monthly meeting tomorrow, Friday the 6th, at the Hilltop Conference Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. As a reminder, tomorrow's topic will be a preview of the upcoming SENG seminar and some of the social and emotional topics that will be covered. Our new one-day format is going to be great for both new parents and those looking for a refresher as their kids continue to grow and change. Amy Gallentine 2019-2020 BVPAGE President
