Spring is finally here and the end of the school year is fast approaching! We still have a few more awesome events planned before we break for the summer!
PLEASE NOTE: We do NOT have a daytime meeting this month, instead we are hosting a evening event -- Don't Ask Alexa, Siri, or Google - The Parent Panel on Thursday April 11th. If you attended our student panel last year.. this year it's the adults turn! Come for an evening of questions and answers and swapping stories and strategies with a panel of parents who've "been there" raising gifted children. See below for more details!
Another important note: We really need YOUR help as BVPAGE continues to grow. Please click on the link below and take a quick, 10-question survey to help us better support our families moving forward. That includes feedback on potentially changing the structure of how we organize and schedule our meetings. Click here for survey.
In a BVPAGE first, one of the vendors at our Summer Opportunities Fair, YouthTech, Inc, has generously created a discount code to benefit our organization and save you money! When you sign up for their camps, just enter the code BVP10. You will automatically save $5 off your camp and another $10 will go to BVPAGE! Check out their camps at this link. Thank you, YouthTech!
Speaking of summer, registration is now open for our Summer Robotics Camp. Please go to BVPAGE.org to check out the details and sign up. Remember, a large portion of the proceeds from this camp go toward funding our teacher grants each year so your kids get a double benefit...a super fun camp and new, fun additions to their gifted classrooms funded by BVPAGE!
Stay tuned to see what the future holds for BVPAGE!
2018-2019 BVPAGE President

Blue Valley 5th grade gifted classes meet in one large group to run their robots through a variety of challenges. Kids get to know each other before middle school and have the chance to pit their robots against one another. We are happy to say the Overland Park Bomb Squad will be back again this year to present their amazing robots. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! This is an easy, one-day commitment and we would love some volunteer help in both set up and tear down. Please visit the volunteer section of BVPAGE.org for more information.
April Evening Meeting - Thursday, April 11, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Don't Ask Alexa, Siri, or Google - The Parent Panel
Hilltop - NO DAYTIME MEETING THIS MONTH
PARENTS of gifted children, it's YOUR turn! Last year, our kids got a chance to hear from high school and college students about their journey growing up gifted. This year, please join us for an evening of questions and answers, stories, adventures, and exploits from parents doing their best to raise gifted children. Our parent panelists will discuss their joys, challenges, successes, and strikeouts. This upbeat forum will allow you to talk with and ask questions of others who understand, have been there, and are still there - doing their best to be better parents! This a joint effort with Olathe Quest so we expect a great turnout!

SENG Spring Parent Groups
Postponed until Fall. Please watch for more information about dates and locations for Fall 2019 closer toward the end of the year.
SENG (Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted) Groups are small, guided discussions for parents of gifted children. Each group meets with other parents and two trained facilitators for eight sessions, using Jim Webb's A Parent's Guide to Gifted Children as a starting point. Every attempt is made to have a morning and evening session, but this may change with enrollment.
